Staying Grounded Amidst the Noise

Good morning,
I hope this message finds you thriving on your journey.
Today, I want to share a personal story and a valuable lesson I've learned along the way - one that I believe could make a world of difference in your business and life.
In my mid-twenties, I was the poster child for hustle culture. I'd wake up at 3 AM, hit the gym and crush a workout, recite my affirmations, ingest a self-development podcast on the way to work, spend 8 hours at work, get home, work on my side hustle from 6-8pm, and repeat.
Maybe there’s an element of that you can relate to…
I thought I was productive, efficient, and unstoppable.
In reality, I was on a fast track to burnout…
And that is exactly what happened.
In 2021, I experienced an eye-opening anxiety attack that stemmed from years of strain, and personal neglect. It was a blessing.
It taught me that working too fast, too hard, and too long, can overstimulate us. When we become overstimulated, we stop seeing clearly, we then become more reactive, our self-awareness weakens, and we aren’t operating in ease. Our view of the world becomes distorted and limited. Kind of like this picture below:

My vision was clouded and narrow. Sure, I could see the horizon of my goals, but it was faint, obscured by a heavy fog of exhaustion, stress, and disconnection. I’d find myself clinging to productivity for the sake of productivity, rather than focusing on progress. I spent so much energy muscling my way toward building a business that I neglected the biggest superpower we have, which is our sense of self.
Does any of this resonate with you?
If so, you may be in the exact same state that I was. It doesn’t need to be this way, we can change it.
The Clarity of Mindfulness
It took hitting a wall, or as some may call a “spiritual winter,” for me to realize a fundamental truth: When we take care of ourselves first, we're better equipped to care for our businesses and clients.
Here's what that can look like:

Notice the difference?
This is what happens when we operate at our best. The fog lifts, and suddenly, we can see so much further, wider, and clearer. We become more adaptable, less reactive, and gain incredible foresight.
How This Applies to You
As coaches and consultants, our businesses are extensions of ourselves. When we're stressed, overwhelmed, or burnt out, it shows in our work. But when we're grounded, centered, and clear-headed, we can offer so much more value to our clients.
Staying grounded amidst the noise isn't just about feeling good (although that's a great benefit). It's about:
Making better strategic decisions
Communicating more effectively with clients
Being more creative and innovative in your offerings
Having the energy to show up fully for your clients and yourself
Tools for Staying Grounded
On my website I’ve create a list of tools that you can use to create a more grounded environment for yourself. You can see them [here]. Here are some of my favorites.
Headspace — This is a meditation app, that helps cultivate mindfulness, self-awareness, and a stronger sense of self.
Freedom App — This app syncs to all your devices, and it can be used to limit or block all types of websites, apps, and anything else that distracts, or deters you from your focus.
Momentum Dash — This is a productivity app that turns your web browser into a personal dashboard with daily inspiration, focus timers, task lists, and more.
A Challenge For You This Week:
🔵 Carve out 15-minutes each day dedicated to disconnecting from everything. I find that mornings work best. Use this time to meditate, be present, stretch, move, or go for a walk. Whatever you choose, but only choose one thing, and make it a time of mindfulness and presence, alone, just you, away from business.
Remember, scaling your business isn't just about working harder. It's about working smarter, and that starts with taking care of yourself. By prioritizing your well-being, you're setting yourself up for sustainable success and growth.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. How do you stay grounded in your business?
Stay centered,
Gio
P.S. If you feel like you’re not operating as your highest self, if you’re tired of pushing important tasks to a later date, if you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed with your initiatives, and if you want more structure.
